Miscellaneous thoughts about Bio

This project unfolds in two interwoven thematic realms: one comprising three installations, the other manifesting as a performance art piece. The installations draw inspiration from contemplations and reckonings during the time of the pandemic. They weave together elements such as living plants, laboratory consumables, and oxytocin protein receptors—each a symbolic vessel: the plants evoke the stillness and confinement of lockdown; the scientific materials allude to the ubiquitous rituals of nucleic acid testing; and the oxytocin receptors embody the profound psychological currents of longing, anxiety, and the fragile human need for connection.

Complementing these installations, a live noise performance entitled Dissecting Pain, presented in collaboration with a guest musician, enacted the ritual disassembly of the protein model using on-site tools, transforming collective memories of suffering into an act of catharsis and renewal.
